Political Science and Public Administration
Welcome to Our Department
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration offers many exciting opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Our eleven full-time faculty have interests ranging from African politics and international relations to health care policy and free speech issues. We have nearly 200 undergraduate majors, and 50 graduate students in our Master of Arts and Master of Public Administration programs. Undergraduates can choose to specialize in legal studies and urban studies, or a minor in public administration, or pursue other specializations through an individualized curriculum. We offer two graduate certificate programs, in municipal administration and health care policy and administration. Our faculty are active in professional research and community service activities. Many of our students pursue internships with state and local government officials, the state legislature, or with the Washington Center in Washington, DC. Our alumni include state legislators, county and city administrators, and directors of a number of nonprofit agencies.
